The Listen Up Method

Here are some loose tips on how to tackle a Listen Up Irish course so that you don't get bogged down and fatigued too early.
This is the The Listen Up Method!
Uimhir a hAon
Try to listen to the audio the day you receive it, first thing if possible. That may be while you're in the shower, or frying some eggs, or even driving to work. Just get the listen in, cold turkey, no text, nothing. With this listen be on the lookout for whatever you can recognise. That might not be too much at all at the start, and that's just fine! Even if you don't recognise the words, start to pay attention to the sounds, and to the intonation.
And don't worry, we don't expect you to understand everything on this first listen. It's not called a Challenge for no reason? This first listen is to get you acquainted with the chapter and the juices flowing.
Uimhir a Dó
Now that the morning listen is out of the way, proceed with your day however you wish! Go to work. Go to the gym. Go back to sleep even, because come evening/night time it will be time to return to the chapter again. Before then try to find time to watch the short Achoimre (under 5 minutes). Having an understanding of what is going on beforehand will really help when you return to the chapter for another listen, because it's now time to give the chapter a second listen, this time with the bilingual text offering any aid if needed.
Uimhir a Trí
By now you've listened to the chapter twice. That's enough right? Well, yes and no. We've strategically left a day between releases. It's up to you what to do with your free day. If you feel you need a break, take one. If you can't get enough of the recordings, keep listening. You want to go over the Stór Focal instead of read the chapter? Who's stopping you? The day between is entirely up to you to use whichever way you see fit. We recommend another listen to the audio, just to keep the story fresh.
Is fút féin atá sé!
It's all entirely up to you!
The above is a suggested approach.
Ag deireadh an lae, everyone will have their own approach to the course and we encourage you to find whatever works best for you.
Ach an rud is tábhachtaí ar fad?
Bain sult as!
